A relative of mine who is travelling to JFK on Saturday and then using Jet Blue down to Tampa has just had notification of likely disruption due to a severe weather system.

Weather channel saying "Winter Storm Nemo is now poised to become the latest example of a powerful, potentially historic, February storm" Heavy snow is forecast along east coast south of New York and getting worse has it heads north towards New England.

UK airlines apparently not addressing the problem, yet :(

Sitting by the pool in Scottsdale, Arizona but can confirm that the expected weather event is major news over here.
They are advising residents to make arrangements for the 'emergency' and folks in the north east are stocking up on vital supplies! Talk is it will be the worst winter storm since the 70's when over 100 died!
Sounds serious. v(

While VS appears to be running the VS003 today, all other New York flights are cancelled ... as is BOS. BA has cancelled all 15 flights today (inc. AA code shares) :0 .

That's a lot of pax to rebook!

Just arrived at the LHR Clubhouse and it appears some doubt has been raised about the VS003 which is still operating though some passengers think its not.....some raised voices at the concierge desk......it's far too early for shouting!!

Oh well a Clubhouse breakfast is on its way!!!

Happy Friday everyone and safe travels.

I remember in Feb 2013 when I was Las Vegas, the news stations were talking about "Snowmaggedon" along the Eastern seaboard and further in then. One station showed their news reporter in Rockefeller Plaza when they had evacuated all non essential services out of Manhattan, cancelled all flights and getting ready for state of emergency.

So is this storm going to worse than that one. Or is it a good news story. A bit like the stories in LA when the temperatures dropped to freezing.

Really no excuse for it ... what a shame ... weather happens, it sucks - enjoy a red head.
