Hi all,

Just got my FC Gold status through :) and am booked on a LHR-JFK-SFO-LHR leg in a couple of weeks' time, with JFK-SFO on Virgin America. Is anyone aware of what benefits (if any) a VS Au card holder gets with VX? I know they use the VS Clubhouse at JFK - would I be able to access it on the day?

Cheers,
H.

The short answer is no, there's some benefits with VS when you're an VX Au card holder but presently not the other way round. If you wish to use the clubhouse when flying with VX you'll have to pay.

As Simon says, no. When VX was offering status matching for AA and UA elites I emailed them about VS FC Au's to ask for the same and was told "no".

Seems very short sighted to me - in particular the extended upgrade window would be most useful. But really it's something of a wasted opportunity and for me the VX schedule issues (i.e. connecting to VX flights from VS), the lack of reciprocality and the upcoming Delta relationship means VX is a diminishing opportunity.

I think VX have a real opportunity that they're missing, esp with the upcoming Delta deal. They'd make a good addition to SkyTeam I feel with their heavy SFO presence and Delta's relatively small SFO operation.

I should add that I met the head of the Elevate scheme a while back, he told me at the time there would be reciprocal benefits for FC Au's, but perhaps they decided against.
