Basically seen a super cheap fare on expedia
outgoing:DUB(aer-lingus)-LGW(VS)-MCO(VS)
incoming:MCO(VS)-MAN(VS)

Who is the fare actually with air lingus or virgin ?
Can i just checkin at LGW?
Who would know i didnt take the first flight?

No you couldn't just do that.

If you don't take the first flight which is the DUB-LGW leg then the whole ticket becomes void and is cancelled.

There are a few threads on here about cheap fares that originate in AMS, it is all to do with the cheaper tax on flights originating outside of the UK.

You need to work out if it is possible and makes financial sense to get a one way flight to DUB to make a saving.

If you don't take the first flight and you loose the rest (even the return from the us) so no you can't miss the DUB-LGW flight and simply check-in at LGW.

BTW that super cheap flight might not be as cheap once you factor in getting to DUB and possibly a hotel too.

And both EI and VS would know if you missed the first sector.

When you fail to turn up for the Aer Lingus flight, you will be tagged as a "No show" the minute check-in closes and this will be true for both flights. As others have said this will void the ticket in its entirety.

Each airline gets its own share of the fare. If the full fare is paid to Virgin Atlantic, Aer Lingus will claim its share of the fare from them. What has made the fare so much cheaper is the fact that you would be paying the Irish APD as opposed to the extremely expensive APD from the UK since the flight originates in Ireland
