What is going on with VS flight schedules between London and Manchester?

Received texts today stating that 3 out of 4 flights that I had booked weeks ago had been rescheduled, one even leaving LHR 65 minutes later for a flight on 4th April. No explanation was given.

Very bad start to VS domestic flights and I still cannot book my seats for the 4th April but I can for the 6th? Explain that!

What a shambles Virgin, get your act together

The flights seem better spaced and with an extra daily flight, what's not to like?

Yet again VS strikes. It makes a change to the schedule and expects pax just to put up with the inconvenience and meet any extra costs - and with poor communication to boot.

To satarise the VS FB team

"we are sorry we failed to meet your expectations on this occasion but please give us another chance to not meet them again in future"

The new schedule may indeed be better but why not publish this schedule in the 1st place?

Its the change of times especially the one by 65 minutes that is poor customer service without customers being given a real reason!

So vs-ground-staff, explain the seat assignments to me?

It would be a shambles had you not been informed, but you were - not really sure what else you're expecting?!

Have you spoke to anyone at Virgin about the seat map for your flight or are you expecting the problem to be solved miraculously?

The problem Virgin will have is that these domestic flights will be sold to business people, who require reliable ontime services, its not as easy as when they re-schedule a holiday flight for a few hours later, when your off to the carribean it doesnt really matter if you leave 2 hours later.

I live in Manchester and my company HQ is Slough, so I often fly down for a day on the BA domestic flights, which are very reliable, so if Virgin want to compete, they will have to start well and maintain that, the flights are always full, so there is definitely a market there and competition will be good, I often get charged £250+ for a return with BA (not flexible) when booking a few days in advance, so hopefully BA will react to the competition.
