Woahhhhhh.... I've just seen some of the comments in relation to my own postings in this thread...(I haven't been on here for a week or two!)

Let's get a few things straight here please...

First of all, I am in NO WAY posting officially on behalf of Virgin Atlantic. I work for them and enjoy letting people know things when I'm able to, which I think is appreciated by most on here.

Secondly, it is not my intention to be overly aggressive with anybody, and I'm sorry if you read any of my replies in that way as it 100% was never meant to be taken in that way at all - I'm a nice person really!

Thirdly - I do work for VS, but I tend to post on here as I would if I was a normal visitor without any insider knowledge - sometimes I can probably come across as moody or whatever, but I'll always be honest.

Again, sorry if any of my postings caused any offence as it wasn't the intention at all. I'm a little shocked at the notion of that actually. :#

^^Meh, wouldn't panic too much SRH, I don't see anyone lighting the torches and sharpening pitchforks just yet. Reading back through this thread we did go a bit off topic at times didn't we.. ha ha.

Speaking for myself of course, a couple of your posts were a tad passionate and very defensive, but a lot of us take great pleasure in poking fun at the laughable efforts of the VS website, perhaps all this may have been taken a bit too far and sorry if anything I said cut to you personally.

I definitely enjoy your enthusiasm and input, especially when gossip and info are flowing :P

Chin up StillRedHot and thanks for this latest post 8D

The airside connector passengers, will arrive directly into gate 24 at T3.

Cyprus Airways, SAA and AirNZ will initially codeshare, but more partners are likely to be added as time goes on.

T1 check in closes 50 minutes before departure, and ABZ, EDI and MAN will be less (think 35 mins but please check!).

Any news on the hand luggage allowance being increased from 6kgs?

Should I make sure they tag my bags correctly when at Manchester? I'm doing MAN-LHR followed by LHR-EWR. Don't want to land in America to find my bags haven't flown with me.

Are all the flights booked on the same ticket? If so they'll be through-checked for you automatically. If they're on separate tickets just let them know and they'll through-check them for you to EWR.

Yup I booked both flights at the same time. I'm just hoping its easy enough to get from Terminal 1 at Heathrow to Terminal 3.

Booking them at the same time

Do you mean you booked Manchester - Heathrow - New York in one transaction, or did you add the Manchester - Heathrow in a different transaction?

Having read StillRedhot's helpful update that Virgin are considering the carry on allowance for the domestic flights, I've taken the plunge and booked an overnight return to Manchester for May. My booking receipt still advises a carry on limit of 6kg but the seat map shows I'm the only one on each of the flights so far so I 'm hoping that either Virgin will change their policy or they will let my overnight case (which comfortably meets the BA size constraints) on board. Anyway, it's an experiment to compare the Virgin offering against my regular BA trips...
