this year for the first time in over 5 i didn't make the full TP required to stay gold, falling 10 short so i decided to contact FC to see what they could do. Just got an email back confirming as a one-off good will gesture, they will be putting me back to Gold status next month y)

i do remember them doing a similar thing a few years ago when the financial crisis really hit & everyone suddenly stopped business travel. They gave all Gold members the opportunity to stay gold by taking just one qualifying flight, no doubt realising a significant proportion of their FC members were going to be lost

Virgin did the same for me, been gold since 2002 & then fell short of TP's last year, unfortunately current gold status runs out in June this year & wont have sufficent TP's to retain, it has been fun while it lasted.

The one last autumn where you got bonus TPs for four sectors if booked and flown within certain periods. There was a long thread about it on here; I'll try to find it.

y) great result ! In over 18 years of travelling with only VS and being silver, I am 3 TP short of gold that I need to get before the end of May, hence 2 weekends in London booked - will be gold before my next longhaul yay

Wish I had the Albert Hall on my AU card... would be a nice change from the statue of prometheus.

Anyone know if FC change the photo on the front or if it is randomly allocated from a pool of photos? What do others have on their gold cards? :?

I think I have the same as you, are they not all the same on Au cards?? I wonder if Slinky has his own personalized Au Card ;)
I much preferred the "old" solid Au cards. They has a bit more style IMHO

Ha ha ha, I wonder indeed.

Have seen AU cards featuring the Royal Albert Hall in London or Prometheus statue at the Rock in NYC.. the link above shows the Royal Albert Hall card if you haven't seen one before ii)

Like tonty said :o)

Maybe it's because I live in Ireland and they're not sure where that is since my cards always come via airmail!
