I still don't understand how it can take VS two weeks to correct an error they have been told about and have even acknowledged themselves.

VS still haven't quite got it right, but at least it's now an inconvenience rather than downright misleading.

Lol, re. the last screen grab sealink.. you have got to know what you are looking for to get to that - likely that you will already be aware of the whole H fiasco.

Good to see mistake is corrected - for the most part ii)

The last screen does offer H class miles as upgradebable, it assumes the passenger then opens the "Fare Rules" box on the next screen to see the contradictory message.

I tend to disagree, that screen is absolutely where someone would end up if wanting to use their miles for an upgrade (and are not "in the know" like us lot on V-Flyer!)

It is just 2 clicks away. Simply click on Spend Miles / Upgrade Flights. Joe Public is then invited to purchase H code qualifying fares v( Sort it out VS! Appreciate that the small print (if Joe Public looks) has been corrected but why oh why invite the unsuspecting public to purchase H 'qualifying' fares in the first place!

Good news folks!

I'm currently sat in the clubhouse waiting to board. I was on PE H class (via corp agency) both ways, on the way out I was told not eligible to upgrade & no seats available.

As I always do I asked at check-in today, and was told that I could upgrade...but with the usual "upgrade fare class" caveat. Imagine my shock when the ticketing agent came back with the cost it was 100gbp fare change and 60gbp taxes + 12000 miles. I pounced on it. This will be my first UC trip, I have to say it's been a bucket list item for me since VS started!

This PE fare was insanely low (1500usd lax<>lhr), and now this super low upgrade fee and mileage spend. Everytime I've tried in the past, even when I had a fare that should have qualified I was told that my corp agency had some special class that precluded upgrades. This has to be a mistake in my favor, right?

Fantastic result!

Yes, I've often had jargon talked at me after asking for an upsell.

This is a reply. A five paragraph "shrug" is how I interpret this.

It's much appreciated that you have taken the time to write to us. Please do allow me to apologise for our delay in responding to you.

I understand from reviewing your feedback the disappointment that you had felt, regarding being unable to upgrade your class of ticket (H class), despite this being advised online that this was a qualifying class to redeem miles against.

I can confirm that this particular class of ticket is indeed non-qualifying, and this was a known error. Our Website Development team had been working to resolve this issue, and this should have been corrected by the time of our next web release on the 13th March.

I do appreciate the inconvenience that this has caused, and I can only apologise for the disappointment felt. I hope that whilst disappointed, that this will not lessen your enjoyment of Virgin Atlantic, nor your time spent on board with us in the future.

In closing, please do allow me to again thank you for taking the time to write to us.

They def lack a thesaurus don't they... Do you feel disappointment? :P

Meh, if I were you I would stand up and tell them that you bought the H fare tickets on the understanding (as advertised) you could upgrade... please provide said upgrade for miles and no fare diff collected. 8D

Congrats on passing the 2K mark btw y)

Still was there as an option for upgradeable bookings yesterday, but to be fair they said 13th March, but never mentioned what year...

What doesn't work in my favour is that I booked over the phone in the "correct" class. I did record the call though ;-)

And now G's are open in November from MCO, my first choice!
