I've received emails and texts today (just waiting for hand delivered telegram) notifying me that my April flights on VS9 and VS26 have been moved to 20 minutes later and 25 minutes earlier respectively.

I must admit my heart went into my mouth when I read the ''We regret to advise.." but hey ho, on the upside another 20 minutes in the LHR CH.

No one received the singing gorilla yet? Huh, strange :P

Not received anything yet on my upcoming 3, 4, or 46s - guess they are leaving these be.

From what i make of it , the VS 25 have been re timed for the Summer to enable aircraft movement between routes .

For the Summer both DEL and the JFK 25 are on the A330 . By pushing the VS 25's Dep to 20:05 PM gives VS 2 Hours and 10 minutes from the time the DEL lands to turn that aircraft around to JFK . Keeping the current timings makes it very difficult to manage the above .

The VS 17/18 too have been re timed . Both these flights feed primarily into the DEL and also LOS , ACC and JNB .

VS now are No. 1 in market share between EWR and DEL nudging UA out comfortably even though they fly non stop between EWR and DEL .

Also Between JFK and DEL , VS are No. 2 on market share after AI who fly non stop from JFK to DEL .

Can you point to a source? I find it hard to believe that VS is behind BA which has two 747s a day to DEL ... and eight flights a day from JFK-LHR ...

you do realise it will leave an hour early dont you ? :D

Do you mean clocks changing on 31 March in the UK? They change on 10 March in the US.

BA connect DEL and BOM to everywhere on their Trans Atlantic Network , along with AA they offer more than 200 destinations ( or atleast so they say in their advertising in India ) .

With VS and the way flights are timed the only connectivity to the US for the DEL flight is JFK and EWR. VS price themselves reasonably out of NY where as with BA they have so many ports in the US where the same seats could be sold from , hence they are slightly more expensive in the Y cabin .

Also the beauty of the VS connection from DEL is the daylight departure to both JFK and EWR which by far is unique to VS . Pax love the flight times and the fact that leaving DEL in the afternoon one can get to NY the same day .

The US - India traffic is very price sensitive and with VS being a great value for money product its a no brainer really why people choose VS over anybody else .

With EWR as well , VS have a massive advantage with the daylight flights and massive Indian diaspora living in New Jersey .

I cant quote a source to the above but try getting onto the VS 17/18 or VS 25/26 and you will see a lot of Indian pax on it and the numbers are massive .

I think flabound is being disreputable and implying it's an April fool. :D

The VS008 has also been re-scheduled to depart LAX at 1700 rather than 1735 for both our flights in April (which has now been changed to the VS044) and my wife's flight in September.
