Can you point to a source? I find it hard to believe that VS is behind BA which has two 747s a day to DEL ... and eight flights a day from JFK-LHR ...
BA connect DEL and BOM to everywhere on their Trans Atlantic Network , along with AA they offer more than 200 destinations ( or atleast so they say in their advertising in India ) .
With VS and the way flights are timed the only connectivity to the US for the DEL flight is JFK and EWR. VS price themselves reasonably out of NY where as with BA they have so many ports in the US where the same seats could be sold from , hence they are slightly more expensive in the Y cabin .
Also the beauty of the VS connection from DEL is the daylight departure to both JFK and EWR which by far is unique to VS . Pax love the flight times and the fact that leaving DEL in the afternoon one can get to NY the same day .
The US - India traffic is very price sensitive and with VS being a great value for money product its a no brainer really why people choose VS over anybody else .
With EWR as well , VS have a massive advantage with the daylight flights and massive Indian diaspora living in New Jersey .
I cant quote a source to the above but try getting onto the VS 17/18 or VS 25/26 and you will see a lot of Indian pax on it and the numbers are massive .
