Well all can say is thanks hamster ,you have dropped me right in it !
After reading hamsters post about BA sale prices I decided to to check out VS prices to Boston on the 23rd of march which came in at £1600 and something in UC ,not wanting to miss out I phoned up and got this reduced to 1394 by changing the inbound to PE and upgrading with 10000 miles, had two seats on hold until 5pm tonight by which time I'd persuaded my best mate he couldn't miss out at that price!
So the upshot is I'm off to Boston on the 23 march and looking forward to it
Ps haven't told the wife yet! Oops what have I done

Joey ,
Really looking forward to it thanks although I think I need more than the pavlova incident to get me out of this one!
Was really happy with the price in the end
Quick question if I may
From the toolbox an a340 sometimes does this flight albeit very occasionally ,am I right in thinking they have the old UC suite

As trev says the A340 is the classic UC suite...

Have you flown in the new suite yet? Sorry lost track with all your jet-setting lately :P

A nice little bribe before you break the news always goes a long way to soften the blow, and of course a nice gift from Boston will definitely keep you out of the dog house. It doesn't have to be expensive. It must however be thoughtful.

Good luck Blacky and enjoy your trip.

Joey,
Yes me and junior upgraded at JFK a couple of weeks ago ,still have some TR to do but want to add some photos which is why I haven't got round to doing them yet.
I actually quite liked the new suite,I just felt the cabin lacked privacy because as we all know there are too many in the cabin.
Would be nice to have one leg on a 340 to compare the two
Tinuks
I think it's going to cost me big time,!

JCBR,
I did think about for a nano second and quickly dismissed the idea.
Seriously though we have 4 kids so going away on our own is difficult and I'm sure I will have more fun with my mate

Glad you're not married to me.....
Whilst I'm sure your wife will be just thrilled that she's left behind doing babysitting duties again I'd make sure that the present she gets is very very nice and very thoughtful :) .

So at 7 day's notice you tell MrsB that you're going away for the weekend,to the US, Upper Class...with a mate? That is living on the edge. :0
