Aer Lingus are pretty great. And you have US pre-clearance in Dublin.

Option 2 looks tempting to me!

EDIT: Just read the trip report. Looks great. The EI lounge at Dublin is rather nice.

The last time I had to travel by train from Boston to NYC (cancellations) you had to get from the Airport to the (normally) South Station in Boston. There are many, many ways to get there from the very inexpensive Silver Line to cab etc. These days if I'm going in to the center of Boston, I check to see if there is a home game on in Boston, if there is I always get the Silver Line. It may be pain to get your luggage on and off but the Silver Line has it own lanes for a majority of the way so not delays in traffic.
