The flight was on a Bombardier CRJ200, which meant only a small amount of overhead storage, so a lot of people drop bags off at the plane steps before boarding to be picked up at the gate on arrival. We had picked the exit row seats – they are “premium seats” which we could choose as One World Sapphire – in reality these didn’t have any extra legroom. There is only one cabin crew member on the flight, so she did the safety briefing demonstration verbally initially, and then demonstrated everything afterwards.
We had chosen seats on the right-handside, which was probably not the best choice, as the left-handside seats had great views of the coastline as we headed down to LAX. We did see the sea and some islands off the coast as we travelled down. The flight is only 25-30 minutes long, and there is no service during the flight. We arrived around 15 minutes early, and we had a short taxi to the American Eagle terminal at LAX. It is odd taxiing around LAX in such a small plane with all the “big ones” around.
As we were stopping in LAX, we had the shuttle bus back to the main terminal and then a long wait for the bags (probably almost as long as the flight itself!!). Not a bad flight – cheaper than getting the train back to LAX and also got us 10 Executive Club points. This time we got coach into downtown Los Angeles which drops at the main train station (where we can connect onto the subway etc). Also, it only costs $7 each and goes regularly and was very quick – better than a taxi!
