I VERY rarely give my mobile number out, however I did to Virgin at the weekend, and so far this week I've had about a dozen or so junk texts, having not received one in over year... v(

Has anyone else been bombarded with texts after giving VAA (in the UK) their mob number, or am I just plain unlucky???

Nope. They have mine and have been using it to update me about flight time changes. Might the context in which you give it have some bearing though?

I'm getting a lot of unsolicited texts from people like paydayloans, accidentinsurance, legal claim firms, and these are all out of the blue just a day or two after giving my mob number to VAA whilst making a booking.

I think it would be very unlikely that VS is the source of your phone number - The timings are just too quick so I think it's just coincidence.

I'd check your communications settings in flying club as well so that only VS can contact you. I am religious is ticking 'no calls / emails from 3rd parties' boxes on websites.

You could also register your phone numbers with the Telephobe Oreference Service but this won't totally eliminate the calls.
