Reward upgrade S - G, online facility?

Evening All,
I have been trying to search online to the answer to this question but can't find anything on the VS website.

If I purchase a S fare online and G's are available, can I upgrade to a G during the booking process or would I need to speak to somone in the call centre?

There was a rumour (maybe it was just a dream!) that this would be incorporated into the forthcoming new booking engine. But all seems to have gone quiet on that front - the website still has a mixture of old and new.

On that topic, the speed of the website update just seems ridiculous. I think it was slinky who originally predicted it was going to take months and months - he was right!

Noone could have predicted years though, which so far it looks like it will stretch out for. Look at all the historic pages we have managed to dig up of things long since past that are still live...

They should have uploaded a website in full, as opposed to creating a frankenstein's monster with it, and taken the old one down... done well it would have lead to mere minutes of down time. Truly baffling ?|
