I tried to search on the forum for this but couldn't find an answer...

I am flying from San Juan to LHR via MIA on 31 March. Originally the VS006 was at 1800, meaning that we had a short layover between flights. However VS changed the departure to 2100 which means we now have over a 3 hour layover.

Normally in the past, I would assume that as a VS AU holder I could use the shared lounge. However, it seems in the description on the VS website, they are specific that lounge access is UC only.

Does anyone know whether I will be able to get in with my AU card, especially given that I have a much longer layover than I originally planned because VS changed the departure time?

That you will. y) y)

It has been mentioned before, thread is here

Dominic got a response back from FC that stated
"Gold members can take one guest to visit any Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse or shared lounge prior to boarding your Virgin Atlantic flight, regardless of your class of travel."

A hell of a lot clearer than their website that only mentions AU access into the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses. Shocker :P

Thanks for confirming. I thought that was the case and actually have used other shared lounges before. However, last year I had an issue with Cancun where the ground staff told us that we could not used the shared lounge because we were not flying UC (even though I was AU). I thought maybe Virgin was getting rid of yet another perk of AU (such as the HEX upgrade vouchers)

Hi NY-LON,

I'll be joining you on that flight tomorrow!

I've decided that there should be a new MIA lounge based in the Bleau Bar in the FontaineBleau on the beach. They have a spa for that all important massage and plenty of drinks and cocktails! Then its just a quick cab right over to the airport at 7:00pm to arrive just in time to get on the plane!

Sounds great! I am going to miss waiting for our flight in a proper clubhouse especially as our 1 hour layover has turned into 3! We are flying back PE so hope to sleep a bit but can at least dream of that increasingly elusive OpUp

[REVISED EDIT]
You can book a spa treatment and use the entire hotel facilities for the day - Ask for a pool pass when you sign into reception and that will let you into the pool area and beach front. Now is the time to go wild :-) The Bleau bar is nice for people watching and La Cote by the poolside is great fun. The La Cote burger is very good one to recommend!

If you valeted at the FontaineBleau, ask for your ticket to be validated. Drops the parking down to $7 for the entire day rather than $20+

However I'm not responsible for the large bar bill that WILL ensue if you enjoy yourself a little too much at the FB. Things can get carried away!!

If you want a real Cowshed experience and you are a member of the Soho Group (I would like to speak to you if you are!), you can always go to the Soho Beach House:
