UC Reward seat availability VS2 EWR LHR

Hi all,

This is my first post but I'm a long term lurker! My partner and I are off to NY in May, originally we booked Econ and then upgraded to PE with miles, I have enough miles left to upgrade us both to UC which I managed to do yesterday on the outbound VS1 8th May which is midweek, however currently there's no availability for the return VS2 on 12th May. I appreciate it's an impossible science(!) but in your experience is the VS2 on a Sunday likely to become available or is that a popular flight? The lady I booked with advised seats are often held until a few weeks before which has been true of the outbound VS1 bit sadly not VS2!

How important is it to you to come back on the 2? You'd increase your chances of finding your reward seats if you could be flexible.

We're not overly precious about coming back on the VS2 but I wasnt sure if we could switch to an earlier flight as we are already booked on the VS2 in PE? Unfortunately we've already booked our hotel so we have to come back on that date, at the time of booking UC availability for a 4/5 day trip was impossible to find, this week there are plenty of available combos so fingers crossed it changes...

Sunday nights are usually busy, I'm afraid. You will probably be able to switch to another flight if a reward seat becomes available (as mentioned above) - but there would be a change fee.

Bear in mind that seats are released right up until the last minute, so look regularly and ask at the airport!
