Appears VS1 has been delayed today by 5 hours! :0 And has been delayed for the past three days! Have a familiar it may get delayed tomorrow now too! Anyway idea for todays delay?
Not sure to be honest, but it may just be the fallout from the 747 that had problems the other day - VS works its fleet quite and there's not much slack if there's a problem. They'll be doing all they can to get back on track, so fingers crossed for you.
If I get a delay I'll have a wonder over to the clubhouse and see if theres any space!

VHOT was the aircraft that returned on her way to SFO earlier in the week. Cannot find why she came back.
Clearly they need her in service today as all the 744's are being used, but the engineers need a few extra hours on her.

Any ideas as to what aircraft I'll be on tomorrow?
I've had a look but can't really see any regular pattern in the usage of the 747s.
The VS1 is the last 747 flight of the day to leave LHR at the moment, so my guess is that if they are struggling to return to the normal schedule, there is probably a slightly higher chance that you'll be on an aircraft that comes in later rather than earlier tomorrow.
Normally that would mean the VS8 or the VS20, which tomorrow will be VROC and VWOW, but most of the jumbo flights went out late today (esp. the 7 and the 45 -- and of course the 1 is still to go), so very difficult to say.
So, in a nutshell: no idea!
And they may even switch type...

It was bird strike on Thursday. The plane due to be used as VS1 on Thursday went to SFO. The VS1 aircraft switched to an a340-600 and was delayed as they had to get the flight crew for that aircraft type to LHR. I assume further delays were knock on effects from Thursday. I hope it clears up for those travelling the next few days.
And appears it is still hitting todays flight. I've been delayed 2.75 hours now taking off at 1900 instead of 1615.
Appears I'll be flying on Mustang Sally too! Nice 76A secured on the top deck.

Hope it doesn't mess your trip up too much.
We can get better, because we're not dead yet

A fine choice, one of my favourites y) Have a great flight and trip 8D
The only way is left....since I found V-Flyer

Having to now wait 6hrs for my flight. Apparently economy passengers aren't allowed to pay their way into the clubhouse. Was told on here I'd be able to. Going to be a fun 6hours
Sorry to hear about the delay.
Virgin's London Clubhouses are not, as a rule, pay-as-you-enter lounges for PE or Y pax. There are, of course, exceptions to that rule and on a quiet day they'll often relax it, but being Easter Sunday it's likely to be much busier than usual so they're probably enforcing it today.
Give the No.1 lounge a try maybe? It's not overly expensive and it gets decent reviews.

Paid entry to the Clubhouse is a thorny subject - different people have different experiences.
Firstly, it has always been on a space available basis, so was never guaranteed.
At one time, it was a no-no unless you were a gold card holder / UC passenger paying for an extra guest, or any passenger who had booked a full package with Virgin Holidays.
In recent times, this policy appeared to have been relaxed with VS saying that PE passengers could pay for entry. Even more recently, the VS staff on their FB page have implied that any passenger could pay for entry, if there was room.
I have never seen this as official policy although I am sure I have read on here of Y pax paying for entry.
Were you told that there is no way you could ever pay for entry as a Y passenger, or that there wasn't enough space today?
Personally, I have always believed that - unless you are going to make the most of the bar - paid entry does not represent good value compared to the No1 lounge but, as usual, YVMV.

I think the No 1 Lounge is £35 entry at the door for 3 hours
People on the check in desk told me I was not allowed at all, nothing about space. I had to ask as I didn't know where the clubhouse even is,

As others have said, the No1 lounge is a most acceptable place to spend a few hours. Wherever you settle, have a drink or two...I hope you have an excellent flight to make up for the delay y)

Currently sat in the No.1 Lounge. Very nice place and atmosphere! Bacon roll just ordered and will be followed by some soup!
Thank god I came in here, iPhone was at about 12% battery!

You were told on here, several times, that paid entry to the CH is never guaranteed and also advised to look at the #1 lounge as an alternative and to book it.
It is unfortunate your flight has been delayed but TBH (and sorry to be blunt) stop fussing about trying to get into the CH and start enjoying your holiday !

Good stuff. How did the transfer work? Seemed very organised from the first flight at least.

Absolutely fine! Came out of the aircraft and directed down some steps on the jetway down to a bus! Was over to T3 in no time! Flight was quick too! Took off a bit late at 1140 instead of 1115 but landed at 1210 instead of 1220! Pleased with Little Red so far!

Ah, tonty, be nice. It is Easter Sunday, after all.
Yes, the OP was told that paid entry was never guaranteed but we did raise his hopes by saying it was possible and let's face it, haven't we all aspired to enter its portals when flying in the lower cabins. And how much more would we wish it when faced with a 6 hour delay.
He's now in the No. 1 lounge so cut him some slack.
Did the OP actually ask at the CH desk regarding paid entry? ..or at the bag drop/check in

I didn't know where the CH was, I asked nicely at the transfer desk after arriving from MAN but was just told that I was Economy and wasn't allowed at all.
