Upgrade from a bid fare

If you upgrade by bidding can you also then upgrade further using FC or FlyingCo miles ?
Can you cancel a bid if you change your mind ?

As long as your bid has upgraded you into a fare class that is eligible for mileage upgrade then yep no probs whatsoever. y) y)

In terms of cancelling a bid, as far as I am aware once you have made your bid it is taken into consideration and if accepted the upgrade happens, just like bidding at an auction. I would suggest only making bids you are comfortable with, anyone tried out £1 yet??

I suppose in theory there is the statutory cooling off period for online transactions although on the face of it I would say the answer should be no, sorry :#

Alright Sealink, it is just upgrades from already purchased seats and it is only available on certain routes I am afraid.

I wish it was an auction on seats outright 8D

Hello guys. Newbie here and 1st post.

I've just made a bid on an upgrade to PE for a flight to Cancun in Aug. Once you've confirmed a bid you'll receive an email stating you can modify or cancel the bid up to 98hrs before the scheduled departure.
They also confirmed that all bids are looked at 7 days to 98hrs so your card won't be charged till then if successful.

Fingers crossed I nab them! : )

IF I remember we have discussed this before and the cooling off regs don't generally apply to travel related bookings.

I know some airlines offer refunds if cancelled within 24 hrs of booking but that is voluntary and not statutory - like shops offering to exchange something because you don't like it rather than because it is faulty.

Huh, quoted DS regs before with a travel agent and watched as tail disappeared between legs and refund processed without any more said. I guess it is all in the delivery

Also works with Virgin Wine when they send you boxes unsolicited and then try to say non refundable unsolicited wine boxes when you call to send them back.... I may have made that arrogant customer service agent near on wet herself by the time I was done, was in a bad mood ): Ahh youth ii)

Sounds more like in the first case they either weren't aware of the regs OR were but decided to give you a refund despite them - just like some shops will offer an exchange or refund if you change your mind - there is nothing in law that requires them to do either - the law only required a refund if the goods are faulty and a lot of people don't know realise that.

As for Virgin Wines, I ordered a case in a promotional offer and left it at that.

A month or so later another box showed up with a note that my new collection had arrived ?| They had only gone and signed me up for some seasonal collection box to be delivered every 3 months without me asking or agreeing, then proceeded to charge the card they had for me on file... cheeky sods v(

Ultimately refund issued and they said to keep the wine as a gift Was all rubbish anyways, used it for cooking. A highly unusual occurrence I have to say, although imagine all those people that may not stand their ground or be aware of their rights. As I said... cheeky ii)
