Hi

If travelling on a flexible PE ticket (Code W) which is potentially upgradeable to UC (but no upgrades are currently being offered on my specific flight), is it then usually possible seats-permitting to upgrade at check-in with miles? As things stand there are plenty of spare seats.

thanks.

Certainly worth the ask. The fact that there are "spare" seats does not necessarily mean that they will say "yes" though.

It may be worth going to the ticketing desk at the airport before than check-in, as sometimes you get sent there anyway to process an upgrade. Plus, they will (or should) know exactly what to do.

Sure is! Just did it on the Miami 006. Arrived today. Was PE and used miles and $'s to get hubby and I to UC. There is a post on here about it. I do think the Miami staff went 'above and well beyond' to make it work for us but it is doable. We went straight to ticket desk. Good luck.
