Hi,

Just had two great flights PE MAN to MCO and return. Uneventful but great service, always feels a bit odd to write a TR when nothing much happens but then feel bad as I only write a TR when I have experienced a problem ?|

Anyhow, we have 4 UC seats booked for July/August, three on one booking ref and one reward seat on another booking ref. How do I go about 'reserving' our seats at 90 days? Do I book them separately and hope we can get four together or can I do it over the phone? Not been in this situation before as the last time we has two separate bookings we 'reserved' our seats at the time of booking as the 90 day thing did not exist....

Thanks in advance,

Ali.

I think it is worth giving CS a call and linking your bookings together. I have a booking for December over three bookings and have done this.

I was told then by a member of the CS team, that when the 90 day seat allocation came round, we should be able to request seats as a group.

If you have seats in mind that you would like to request, it's worth being on line as the 90 days countdown comes around and just be as quick as possible.

I would however stress again, that it is really worthwhile linking your bookings so that the "one on their own" doesn't become separated due to "forced" cabin seats changes.

As you are in UC, you should be able to find a formation that you are happy with! Just be quick! :)

Good luck with it all! :o)

Good idea to link booking for I think you still need to select seats for each booking separately via MMB.

Sound advice on 'linking' the booking references.

Recently 'we' flew to LA and back from LAS. I had booked a AmEx upgrade to PE on one booking ref. My friend had booked a M+M fare so had a different ref.

When making the telephoned booking, the agent said she had linked the bookings but at the 90day period when I could request seats she said to phone again just to ensure all had gone thru ok now we had seats with names against them.

Full marked to VS - all worked well and I checked into the requested seats online (both ways).

United Airlines from PSP to LAS managed to seat us rows
apart v( even though I requested ours seats back in November when there was no other passengers even booked on the flight :0

We flew LGW-ORL and LHR-MIA last year on 3 separate bookings going out and 2 on the way back.
I just logged into each booking separately to reserve our seats and had no problems going out, all was still the same when doing OLCI but problem was coming home, was told our bookings were linked and we had selected our seats when booking but when doing OLCI noticed our seats had not only been moved but we were sat at opposite ends of PE, not what we wanted when flying home from our honeymoon.

I'd recommend ringing to reserving the seats, making sure the bookings really are linked and double check again when you do OLCI

Seats are never reserved, only requested. There is never a guarantee of any seat until the door is closed. OLCI is one way of trying to ensure you get your preferred seats but even then they may be changed for operational reasons.

Thank you all.

I called the UC reservations number and the lady linked our two bookings. She said I can either request our seats online at 90 days or call the UC line again and they can to this for me.....

Thanks again.

Oops, always say reserve although I fully realise they're just requests.
