Chances of upgrading on VS45

Hi y'all!

Always flying in UC but flying next monday on the VS45 LHR-JFK in PE (H) due to someone else making the booking for me. I couldn't find this info so just checking: is there any way you can check beforehand what the chances are there will be miles or money upgrades at airport. Is this usually a full/busy flight in UC?

And would anyone advise a time to arrive to obtain best chance to be getting the opp to do so. Far in advance or closer to flight time? Will be at the CH so if it's not offered at check-in would it be smart to tell the lovely ladies at the ch if they could keep an eye on potential upgrade poss. or do they not have the access/ possibility to do so?

A lot of folks on here have had great success at the airport and it's worth taking the risk. It's worth giving CS a call though as seats become available as and when. I don't think there is a particular time which is better than others although I do stand to be corrected!!!

Availability on flightstats looks to be a lot of 9's so there may be a chance of an upgrade. Have you tried doing a dummy booking on a miles ticket? I tried to look but don't have enough miles to look!!! )

There is availability (as of now @ 14:20 BST) of G in UC on Monday 15th on VS9 and VS25, so if you travelled at a different time those would be available for a miles upgrade from a PE W or S class ticket. (Or with money+miles from a K class)

I suggest you ask at check-in and let the "lovely ladies" in the CH know too. They definitely have access to the systems and can do the upgrade if space is available.

Hello from the clubhouse!

went to check-in and there were 6 seats available but no Miles upgrade from a H fare... asked for a price then and it was a staggering 1200 pound one-way for 1 pax. (haha). i kindly refused so here we go for first time in PE. Good thing it's on a short day flight and i can check out how Pe is like.

Ouch! That is an eye watering amount! B)

If I were you, I'd ask at the desk in the Clubhouse about the possibility of mileage upgrades -- you may be lucky as departure time approaches if there are unsold seats. However, the price of converting an H fare to an upgradeable bucket at this short notice will not be negligible -- unless you are lucky...
