Very surprised to find out there is no agreement in place for VS GC members to use 'The Loft' at LAX. It simply doesn't make sense. Miles and TP's are earned when flying with the airline, so why not allow us to use the lounge? $40 is hardly going to break the bank but quite ridiculous and annoying.

Can anyone shed any light as to why this is.

Thanks

Seeing as VX even charge their own 1st class passengers to use it, they're unlikely to offer it free to another airline's AU pax!

I agree it's frustrating, but it's no more than I'd expect from an American airline, which have very different rules and attitudes towards lounges to what we in Britain are used to.

They do allow 1st class passengers to use it, as well as Virgin AU's velocity PAX and at no charge.

She said I quote "We currently don't have an agreement with Virgin Atlantic, only Virgin Australia".

You're right, they do allow their 1st class pax to use it - only transcontinental though.

Maybe VS just aren't willing to pay for an agreement, or to agree to let VX status pax use their clubhouses on a reciprocal basis - or maybe it's just never been discussed, who knows.

Maybe worth asking Howard on the VS Facebook page?

Indeed, but the continuing lack of reciprocal recognition for VS Au's on VX is a pain, if they can do it for VA, why not VS?
