Does anybody know when I can allocate my seat on the new LHR-MAN route which I'm taking in early April? :(!

I presume OLCI will be used "as usual" but as there is only me, I should be able to use Passbook this time. :)

Thanks

I'm flying on 6th April LHR-MAN and I have been able to allocate my seats.

My friend booked LHR-MAN on 4th April this evening and cannot allocate her seat.

I thought that it would work on an earlier departure?

Any ideas?

Possibly the 60% quota of seats eligible for pre-requesting has been reached and the rest can only be allocated at the airport

It seems the MAN>LHR seat allocations are also very buggy at the minute. My MAN>LHR booking is showing I've no seat allocated, though according to VS, I do have a seat allocated.

Another let down by Virgin, haven't been able to allocate my seat, went to OLCI today exactly 24 hours before departure only for the system to constantly say "Sorry, unable to check you in, please go to the check-in counter" or words to that effect!

Phoned Virgin, to be told, we're not letting anybody check-in online because we don't know if you're an adult or child!!
Told the agent that Virgin check-in process is terrible and for a brand new service its unacceptable as BA's is so good. I've never had a problem with BA.

What the real reason is, I doubt if I ever know but its a real disappointment as I have no bags to check-in and was hoping to go straight to Security!

Again, What are Virgin doing with this shoddy service? They certainly wont attract new passengers with this attitude to customer service. Do they care?

Again, tried to OLCI for flight up to MAN tomorrow night and get same message as before "Unfortunateley, we are unable to check you in online at the moment. Please checkin at the airport as usual".

I flew to LHR-MAN on 6th April and I could checkin online and received boarding card via Iphone Passbook.

On 4th April, I had the same problem and had to Queue at checkin desk.

Today, I have the same problem and have to allow extra time to Queue again tomorrow with no bags.

What is going on at Virgin? I never get any problems with BA OCLI. Once again , not good enough Virgin. ?|

Well why not complain direct to Virgin? And do it each and every time it happens and hopefully then they may do something about it.

Tontybear

I have and get "bolerplate" answers which I can spot from miles away.

They even offered a few thousand miles and then asked what my FF number was!

I also received a leter from "Customer Services" stating that they were passing my latter to ......... "Customer Services".
Does that make sense to me?

Dont get me wrong, I'm not a BA employee or BA Lover but their OLCI is miles better than VS. Why reinvent the wheel? Replicate what BA have done.

Ha ha ha, sounds like VS are having an identity crisis. ):

I can understand your frustration but at the same time can sympathise with VS on the teething issues.. this is still a new service offering to them, and whilst I wish it were as simple as copying what another company is doing, it is usually slightly more involved than that.

I fly BA domestic a fair amount but VS have my long haul business and now with Little Red starting up I am keen to give them a proper shot when the dust settles. I am more so interested to see what BA will do now they have some competition in the mix.. could be fun 8D
