here's a mind bender..find a route that circles the world, using VS/VS code share metal that travels at least 22k miles...in under 44 hrs including layovers?

Im sure I can figure out a prize if someone can figure out a routing..oh and you can only head east..no back tracking.

No deal - come up with the prize, then we'll do the work. Not the other way round.

Of course you could take the same route as Nipolean, but he only got as far as North Africa.;)

Mmm - I am going to have to think about this one. You have to get the connections right and not waste time (and I assuming valid connection times of at least an hour at each place).

There is the IDL to assist, and the crap Worldspan engine to supply incorrect routings. SIN will most likely figure beign the hub for SQ.

Dave, please tell me you are not thinking of doing the end suggested routing?

Thanks,
Richard

Heck, I would do it with Dave :D.

I can see it happening in a SFO-LHR-JNB-SIN-SFO or (subsitute SFO for LAX), but I am not sure if it is possible just yet :).

Why does it need to be done in 44 hours, friday night to monday morning is 60 hours.

Cheers

sorry to say I havn't,I figured it out a couple of years ago,but I guess VS/SQ schedules have changed, and to be perfectly honest, after a few hours of trying to figure it out and a bottle of wine,my brain melted,so I figured, where is the one place I can try and find someone who will no doubt figure it out in 5 minutes...well I figured someone here would, though I think they are still recovering from last week:D

How about you do LHR/JFK/LHR/JFK/LHR... and just pretend that you are going around the world.

On a serious note, I think you need to be looking at something like:
LAX/SYD/LHR/LAX
LAX/TYO/LHR/LAX
LAX/HKG/LHR/LAX

I think VS times will prohibit this in the timescale you want.

Or you could just do EWR-SIN-EWR, which would be 36 hours, and you'd probably go farther than you need to. But I don't think it's codeshared with VS.

I am thinking LAX-LHR-HKG-LAX, but there might be something quicker.

it's not a case of heading west then east, you need a route that travels around the world.
