Sorry if i'm being a bit thick here. What do the letters refer to prior to the numbers?, such as j/6 w/9 etc etc. I've just done a check on my flight for June on flightstats but i don't understand it. Thanks ?| ?|

It's the availability of certain fares -- there's a handy guide at the-toolbox/fare-codes -- see the section on "Decoding GDS Availability".

They are the various fare buckets.

J, C, D, I and Z are Upper Class, with J the most flexible and most expensive and Z the least flexible and cheapest.

W, S and K are Premium Economy and the rest are Economy.

So J/6 means there are 6 seats available in the most expensive bucket in UC.

9 is the maximum number you'll see, so that could mean there are only 9 seats available in that bucket or 200.

They are not cumulative, so J/6 C/6 D/6 I/2 Z/1 doesn't mean there are 21 seats available in UC, it means there are 6 - all of which are available at the highest price but only 1 at the lowest.

Hope that makes sense.
