Ok - how bad is this, I read on here that its best to try and get off the jet first but is this really the case. Sure you might get through passport control first, but you still got to wait for baggage and then sit on the bus waiting for the guy who got off the jet last?
Have you stopped taking your medication? You seem to be rambling again ! Anyway, the answer is it depends. MCO is mostly rubbish, but not as rubbish as some others, it just depends. SFO if you time it right means about a 2.5 hour wait for some to get through passport control.
It was like that when I got here, Sir!
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links but this was on the news here in Orlando yesterday. It may help speed up MCO.

Based on my experiences, it wont make a difference. It's the immigration part of arriving into Orlando that causes the queues, not the customs part ?|
When you actually get to the desk, its usually only a matter of minutes before you board the train into the main terminal, its the wait till a desk is free that can add hours onto your journey.
The only way to cut down time would be to man more desks ii)

Whole US Immigration system is a snarl up..... not just MCO..... try getting through at Chicago !!! Just so much wasted time standing there.... Could tell so many stories of missed connections etc and these with 3 - 4 hour gaps.

And do they care? Nope.
In fact I think they take pride in making all us "aliens" and potential terrorists queue up for the privilege of being interrogated to enter their country.
Unlike Britain where there are calls for a public inquiry if the queue's longer than5 minutes!
To be fair to the staff at MCO and elsewhere, when you get 2-3 virgin flights arriving within a couple of hours, some just minutes apart, dumping 1200 PAX into the arrivals hall means there will be delays. This does not take into other EU flights, Air France and Lufthansa etc. the numbers just keep the queues long. Had to wait on the plane or a side room for 30-40 before now and I really do not think they 'do it on purpose'. Just civil servants doing their jobs and they have budget issues as well. They also use the US citizen lanes as well when the lines are long. It can be a pain but stay calm and carry on.

Security! Land of the free, home of the brave, plus tax !

Rambling again!
Flew into MCO a couple of weeks ago and was through immigration in 25 minutes as we just missed the MAN flight and beat the GLA flight! Coming through security to get home, however, was immensely different!! Massive queues apparently down to Federal budget cuts n(
The only way is left....since I found V-Flyer

Really?
We pay 9% sales tax here in California - one of the highest in the US. I believe the UK equivalent is VAT at 20%?
Those of us who live here, legally, are 100% free to go about our business, leisure and even defend our families and homes without being made into the criminal.
PW.

The fact that you think that's a positive, is funny...

the fact you find its a negative is funnier.............ok guns here are crazy BUT I have the right to defend my home the moment someone sets foot on my property, not inside my house, ON my property. And if i fear for my or anyone in the houses life, I have the right to use deadly force.Guess what, its rare for occupied homes to get burgled.
in the Uk I had the right to sit there and say 'please help yourself and I wont whack you so you cant sue me'
yup lots wrong with the US but self defence aint one
and to answer the OP.
yes its a huge advantage to be off as quick as possible, normally your bags are through and waiting for you, and there aint no bus dude !! you just get on the sky train and go....

Guess what, it's not rare enough for some nutter to walk into cinemas, schools, malls, offices either. Sigh.

Please can we keep this thread on topic, which is the queues at MCO.

Point taken.

Basically, upon arriving at all US airports it's a good idea to be off the aircraft like a shot.
I'll get my coat.
I'll get my coat.

Always planning a trip somewhere!
yep so true, and every person thats gets past you, both on the plane and walking to the arrivals hall, is going to be in line in front of you. Common sense, just keep walking, no unseemly running, and if you are in PE downstairs don't let the good folks in UC muscle their way past you
And walking four abreast makes a great road block for would be line cutters :0

I have to say, well I don't but I will, that a vast percentage of the people getting off most flights are either exceptionally unfit, overweight, dragging kids, or a combination of all three. The problem is hitting the arrival hall and finding that 2 747 and 1 380 have just landed ahead of you - SFO is my usual point of entry and before Global Entry it was a lottery.
It was like that when I got here, Sir!
And it is worth adding that actually being first off does not guarantee you a quicker time. On several occasions I have seen the line-monitors divert parts of the queue building up behind me off to empty lanes across on the other sides of the halls, which means that people far behind you in the queue get seen first and sometimes MUCH more quickly.

No-one likes a show- off

Far too many variables but yes, first off is the best head start. Although getting to the immigration hall and finding you've been beaten by the BA and AF flights takes the shine off (SFO but you get the picture).
Thanks

I'm preparing to be one of the first off and get to the desks as quickly as I can at MIA on Tuesday.

Good luck. MIA - go with low expectations and if you wait less than 2 hours it's a positive
