Hi,

Can anyone tell me at which seats the IFE boxes are located in Premium Economy and therefore have less legroom available?

Have flights coming up on all the types so information for A343, A346, B744 and A333 gratefully received. Have tried searching the forum without any luck.

Many thanks

:)

The IFE boxes under the PE seats has no impact on leg room in any location or aircraft.

Because all PE seats are bigger, there's more room directly underneath them to put the IFE boxes out of reach.

The only seats that have a visible IFE box are economy seats.

Thanks James.

That helps a lot. I had read another post that suggested otherwise and it got me thinking! Legroom is probably the most important thing to me on a flight (oh and the booze... Lol) so this helps put my mind at rest.

Cheers

I disagree that it doesn't effect legroom.
I flew to Orlando on Sunday in seat 17h pe (aisle seat), and the ife box is situated underneath the seat in front, and if you are long legged or tall like I am (6'2) then it does restrict you being able to fully extend your legs, whereas in a window seat you can fully extend no problem.

I also agree that there is some sort of IFE box under the seats. LHR 747 and there was a noticeable difference between 33D and E. One seat I could stretch all the way under whereas the other there was something taking up space under the seat.

In wasn't like in economy where the boxes take up width of legroom, but something right under stopping you from stretching right under. Might only be a problem for taller people, I'm 6ft.

Being 6'7 can definitely confirm the a346's have a equipment box (relatively far forward)on the window seats and the middle seat of the centre 3 seats, probably only an issue if you're tall though (was for me!!)

None on the A333's however :)

Many thanks for the updates. I am 6'2 so imagine they could get in my way. My next flight is the VS17 on a A343. I've gone for 20D. Does anyone know if the boxes are in the same place as the A346?

Return flight on VS10 so planned to be a box free A333 but knowing my luck will switch to A343 last minute! I seem to be an A343 magnet!

The IFE boxes in PE on the 340-600 are very restrictive so be careful which seat you pick.
All the middle seats in the centre section have a big box under them limiting leg room (E seats). Either side is fine.
Also the window seats (both sides) have the same box under the seat in front.

Not tried PE on 747 or 330.

If you look on seatguru.com it shows the seat layouts including the facts about underseat IFE boxes. On the 747 config 4 shown here it notes that there is a box under the C seats in PE. I'm sure it also used to say that there was one under the E or F and H as well.

It does note the presence of them in economy too under all C,D,G and H seats.
