Hello, I am a newbie so hope I am posting this on the correct page. I am due to request seats tomorrow and need some help on which seats to choose. We are a family of 4, 2 adults & 2 teens on the A330 300 LHR-JFK VS25 and we are travelling in the PE cabin.I was looking at rows 19&20 A&B but when I checked on seat guru it said row 20 has a window missing and even though it will be dark during our flight we would like a window seat would also like to be close to the front of the cabin as heard about peoples first choice of meal running out and DH doesnt want to be over the wing ii)
Would love to hear any suggestions any of you may have and also if anyone can confirm that 20A has no window ?|
Many thanks :)

Hi and welcome to v flyer ,haven't travelled PE on an A330 so not sure about the missing window but I'm sure somebody will be along soon to clarify ,even if you sit midway in the cabin you should be ok for your meal choice so maybe 21 & 22 A and C as there is no B in PE ,nice new planes aswell ,had a quick peek a few weeks ago and the cabin looks nice

It's Row 21 that's missing a window in PE on the A330 - was seated the row behind the missing window recently on the A330 and just checked and i was in row 22.

Just in case it gets changed to the A340-600, I'd avoid selecting row 19.

I selected 19AC on the A330, it got swapped and I ended up in 19AC on the A340-600 which don't have a window!

I'm now a little concerned as I've got 20A&C selected both ways for our flight to Boston this Saturday and returning in two weeks.

I really hope it is row 21 that's missing the window as seeing the view from the air is one of the main highlights of flying for me. Flying to and from Chicago last year we had middle seats as there was three of us and I find it so dull not being able to see out.

Thanks for all your help, I have just logged on to reserve our seats and it would appear we are the only ones to have done so which tells me there's no urgency at the moment so I have booked 22 & 23 for now and just keep my ears and eyes peeled for any other info.
Its handy to know about the 340-600 as that is what we are due to fly home on so I will avoid those seats.
It would be great if DoomWolf could report back regarding missing window :)

I can confirm that it is definitely row 21 that is missing a window and not row 20. I was sat in 20A and actually had 2 windows, one next to my head and another one over the legroom space. Row 21 has one missing window but does have another window that requires leaning forward to look out of.

Row 20 is slightly in front of the wing with a lovely view over the side of the engine. We were also lucky in that PE was only around half full, if that. The lady in front of me didn't recline her seat at all (a rarity for me) and there was no one sat in the seats behind us. I also noticed that not one of the middle seats was occupied.

Thanks DoomWolf, that clears things up for me now I will try and change my seats to 19&20 A&C.
First time for us in PE and we are very excited about our flight, it would be a shame not to see the lights of manhattan as we land.
Enjoy the rest of your trip and your return journey.
Thankyou all for your replies, what a great forum y)
