Not exactly Bloomsbury, but SoHo Japan just off Oxford Street is brilliant, and frequented by a lot of Japanese diners. And it's in an old Irish pub.

EDIT: just discovered it's closed.

Mushu is a good'un, over on Warren Street.

ItadakiZen is also worthy of mention over on the Kings Cross Road... small menu but good food. Might also be a bit far too depending on the rest of your eves plans.

Enjoy your eve in T'big smoke 8D

We'll be down there too, though down on the South Bank. I'll keep an eye out for the orange jacket and cat...

Sorry NH not been to that one. I have to say that I have never seen such a flash heavy site for a japanese restaurant and lounge before!! It feels like I am on something... too much green tea perhaps :P

The Roka in Canary Wharf is one of my favourite 'work' restaurants, although to be fair, it's a pretty uninspiring bunch of corporate eateries that you'll find in this area (so thank goodness that Goodman opened a branch nearby...).

Black cod is my staple, but the sashimi has been consistently decent in the past. Definitely not a cheap night out though! But then I rarely get any nights out these days, so don't feel too guilty about going there.
