Hi

Will be flying into JFK on VS009 which gets in around 9pm.

In order to transfer into manhattan I have 3 options:

Taxi @ $45 + tolls & Tip
Bus @ $15 will drop off two blocks from our hotel at 34th st
Airtrain @ $9 couple of changes en route to Manhattan

Has anyone used either the bus or airtrain? (esp at that time of night)

All comments much appreciated

Hi, jj. Welcome aboard VFlyer.

Honestly, by the time you exit customs and immigration you will be quite tired and it will late. Rather than hassling with taxis and the AirTrain (by the way, have used AirTrain and it's a quite decent alternative during the day, particularly when traffic is heavy or the weather is poor) I suggest you pre-reserve a car to pick you up. I have used Carmel Limo quite successfully; you'll pay US45 plus tip for a one-way ride in a 4-pax sedan ... well worth the price IMHO.

If you need any help with other NYC-related questions, have a look at our various travel forums and post away! Also, please consider a membership in VFlyer which gives you extra benefits and privileges while helping defray the cost of operating the Forum.

Regards,
Chuck-
