Good afternoon,

The 13 to get refers to keeping my Gold FF, I didn't expect to ever reach the dizzy heights as all my flying is personal, however I did make it and have really enjoyed the year so far. The vast majority of my trips are PE and the lounge use has been well worth it.
My question is we have plans to visit OZ next year but the friends to visit are in Perth and hence Cathy were looking good in Business, however, a friend realising that I only needed 13 points to stay gold suggested I made up the tier points and then used VS to SYD and took a bit of time visiting the east coast as well as Perth. Could do the trip in PE with a stop in HKG on the way back and get use of lounges in both HKG and SYD.
Hence, six and a half trips to MAN would make up the needed points, am I allowed to make the points up on little red only ??
I would appreciate any advice, my gut feeling is to get flying, I have till the end of Sept.
Thanks

In a similar position and asked pretty much the same thing regarding little red ,no reason why you can't do a few trips to make up the TP 's but as was pointed out to me it might get a bit tedious .

The answer is yes, you earn 1 TP for each Little Red flight and they all count towards your total.

However IMHO it's only worth going out of your way to retain AU if you plan to fly a lot again next year in PE or Y, and will therefore benefit from lots of visits to the Clubhouse and lots of double miles.

If you're only likely to do that Australia trip and one or two others, 7 return trips on Little Red is a lot of money and effort just to get in the Clubhouse a couple of times and earn a few more miles. If you're flying PE you can sometimes buy your way in anyway.

In a nutshell, I would ask yourself why you really want to retain AU. If it'll be of genuine value in terms of lots of miles and Clubhouse access, go for it. But if it's just because it's quite nice to have the status you're wasting your money IMHO.

Thank you Blacky1 and Gumshoe

Agree with both of you, however my wife will be dropping to Red this year so it would get her back to silver for said trip next year. The extra miles would be of huge assistance towards another set of reward flights in the future (providing VS survive the loss they made these last two years)

Thanks again for input
