Has anyone used passbook for boarding?
My girlfriend and I both have iPhone 5s so we could both use passbook in theory, but is it actually possible? I seem to remember reading somewhere a while ago if there was more than one person on the booking it wasn't possible to do.

I'm planning on checking in online 24 hours before, then I singing twilight checking to drop our bags that evening.

You're correct if there are 2 people on one booking you can't use the passbook option I'm afraid.

Ah right. Might just be easier to ignore the passbook option and just print the passes. Cheers!

Passbook option works a treat. Even if you are both on same booking you can forward email to your companion and they can download into their passbook.
Give it a go - worked well for us - shame not available yet for inbound flights into UK.

Used passbook and yes it works great.

As said above you get an email and so email it to partner and that should allow them to activate. I find it very convenient, it always reads really well on their scanners with no problems too.

The swipe facility comes up like you have a text too so the boarding pass is always to hand even when phone locks and can be instantly retrieved without having to open passbook.

Love mine too because the passes save in there for ages so I still have my Cape Town SEQ 1 in purple stored for happy memories !!!! :) :)

I used this a few weeks ago on the VS27 and no problems at all with LGW security, at the gate, or boarding worked really well and as mentioned above just forward email on and it will work a treat , it's so easy and going to use the EasyJet version at the end of the week so will let you know how that goes

Could I have both boarding passes on my phone if this is what I actually wanted?

Is this what happens as default anyway if you choose passbook and have two people on the booking?

How exactly does this passbook app work. It was preloaded on my ipod 5 and I just ignored it, but I tried clicking on it now, and it just took me to the store to get apps for passbook.

There are a couple of ways you can use Apple Passbook.

1) Via a passbook enbabled app (which is why it is sending you to the App Store). There's quite a few out now including several major airlines & hotels chains.

2) A passbook is emailed to you. You click the attachment which opens Passbook displaying your boarding pass.

The boarding pass contains a snow bar code and this barcode is scanned directly from your iPhone/iPod screen at the airport in all the places a normal boarding card would be scanned (at check-in, security, at the gate and shown to the crew as you board the aircraft)
