Essentially there aren't very many of them - only a very small percentage of seats on each flight will be made available as reward seats (even if it's wide open for cash bookings).

And they become available as and when - ie not necessarily on the day the flight opens for general booking at T-330.

You can check availability by selecting "spend miles" instead of "spend money" in the booking engine. Just don't be surprised if there's no availability on the dates or flights you want. Your chances will improve if you can be flexible with your dates, and bear in mind if nothing's available on day 1 it may become available during the year, you just have to keep checking.

However if there IS availability get straight on the phone and book - the seats won't last long, especially in UC.

Good luck!

It is indeed. One small note of caution though - is the offer effectively based on reward seat availability? The wording seems familiar from the days of the red voucher.

yes availability for these flights comes from the reward bucket - hence my earlier comment.

Where does it state this?

The OP will have been awarded something similar to the red select voucher, and that books in to the O fare code not from the reward availability. I see nothing in the reply from VS to saying it will be from the reward seats so it is wrong to suggest as such.

More than happy to stand corrected on this, but my experience of using a set of select vouchers a number of years ago was that whatever bucket it was being being drawn from was a very tiny bucket or one with a very big hole in it....

I guess it's all speculation anyway until the point at which ymoran takes VS up on the offer and makes a booking. Whatever, ymoran, have the most fun and here's hoping for the outcome you want....

The select voucher books in to the O fare code as I said. You are correct that only a limited number of O fares are released for each flight and also on some flights they are not released at all, say for example a MAN-MCO flight over Easter. That will be the reason why they added the line about booking as early as possible.
