so having grabbed my bags its 2.48 and I have to change terminals, check in and drop bags in less than 20 mins...needless to say a very brisk march out of T7 onto the Airtrain...2 mins to T5, then a very long walk ...3.01 lucky a very helpful JB ground staffer checks me in and sends me to the bag drop in seconds....bag drop 3.03 3 people in front (2 groups) and...they take bloody ages, waffling on , cant find passports, how was your cruise?? FFS Im thinking hurry up...and Im next , the desk empties and 'sorry sir im going off duty... :(!
finally get the next desk, pay for the extra bag and onto the conveyor ....3.10 'am I ok', yes sir no worries' y)
head for security and .......get stuck behind the Hispanic family from hell, each has at least 3 carry on bags, parcels, 6 coats, laptops hidden at bottom of bag...your getting this right..........so at last I'm through the scanner ....3.23 ...head for the gate glance at the info board .....'closed' :0 .......run to the gate, last few stragglers phew I make it on board...and...some little old lady has decided she likes my window seat, check with CC and rather than just fess up and move she has to hunt for her BP in one of her 3 bags and 'oh yes I'm in E not F'...........really ??
so I sit down glance at watch 3.35 and then ...I see a buggy whizz up and one of my bags thrown at the plane, hold closed, phew I think it just made it.............then - and you know when something suddenly dawns on you- hang on that was the first of the two I put on the belt and it was the lighter on.......they wouldn't ...would they............so I sit there thinking Im only going to see one at the other end WHEN......the buggy comes whizzing up turns 90 degrees at speed and guess what flies off ? yup bag 2. Hold re-opened and at 3.37 and 56seconds (yup I timed it) it gets thrown on.......at 3.39 and 46 seconds -we push back.......now that's close.

anyway the boring bit -flight down all ok, land RSW 7.20 bags appear -head home...the end !!!

Oh dear. Not my idea of a stress free flight then ! I guess the fact that you made it - and your bags - makes it all seem worthwhile ... But suddenly , the alternative of a direct flight to TPA and short drive south seems idyllic.
Thanks for TR.
