There used to be a way to see all your history when asking for the last year of your statement then changing something in the URL. can anyone remember how?

I've been a Flying Club member since 1992 so would be really interested at looking back at my history to see if I'm anywhere near the 300 tier points.

This from a post on flyer talk (actually the BA board!) I don't know if it works or not but it looks familiar to what has previously been posted on here.

Log in to Flying Club...
Go to 'Your Account'...
Change statement period to "1 year" and click Update..

Then in the URL, change "...statementSelection=4.." from 4 to 5

Oh yes it works...... damn that is a long list ii)

Thanks Tonty that worked. I'm only two thirds the way there. Guess I need to book some more flights!

I'm interested to know however whether the wording:

"earn 1 million base flown miles"

Means FC base miles (i.e. miles flown including cabin bonus per the definition from VS) OR actual flown miles? For some folk that's going to make a difference. And of course that will also mean miles on VS metal only ... so subtract all the partner miles to work it out as well as FC tier bonus miles.

Hmm a good point. :?

I think that base flown miles should include the cabin bonus as well as the tier bonuses.. they are all based on a percentage of the base flown mileage per flight and by very definition are base flown miles earned |:)

It fails to distinguish, as of yet, between VS metal and non-VS metal.. although this is assumed - for example check out the wording of the DL deal where miles flown are earned on routes - granted not the exact wording but check out the tier bonus offered as a percentage of base flown miles :P No doubt clarification will follow in a bit.

Being frank with this, most people who have earned AU for 10 years will have racked up 300TPs (at least) - of course there are exceptions... the Amex Centurion offering AU for as long as you hold the card and the AU offers to certain company travellers that get you to AU in 20 TPs in the first year.. any more?

As to the extra gift when you hit 1 million miles... I wonder what that will be.. a clock perhaps :P or maybe UNIQ for life ):

this works but it will take me a long time with a calculator. Is there a way to see a total ?

does anyone know if this will be the case or whether these new rules will only apply to new bookings?

Assume you guys are talking about the mileage earning increase on the low bucket economy tickets?

Should be from here on out.. basically fly in O, N, X, V, Q or E and from now on you get 100% base flown miles. Do double check though and if they only give you 50% give them a call to get the balance.

In a word, no.
Maybe copy and paste in to Excel?

I've got nearly a million miles sitting in the account right now, but not all earned bum-on-seat. maybe 40% from bonus miles, credit card, extra 'miles flown' for being AU, etc. Plus it's not always that easy to spend them, believe me. Or don't - just look how many people are endlessly searching for UC reward flights to CPT or SFO on here, and getting nowhere. Its also often better value to pay for a ticket than use the miles + pay taxes. Redemption rates can be bloody awful when you work it out. I buy friends EC reward tickets as gifts with mine, (and pay the taxes, to make it really a gift) seems the nicest way to get rid of them, and still leaves me plenty should things change with the ridonkulous UK taxes.

Yes - cut and paste into Excel but IIRC you have to 'paste special'

It takes a bit of gerrymandering to separate out all the categories of miles - cut and paste will give you a long, long list and you'll need to extract all the base miles into a new column to tally them up.

If you're truly anal / geeky / too much time on your hands like me ii) you'll have a spreadsheet already. Mine tells me I've flown on G-VHOT ten times since 2010 and earned 194,719 base miles in 2012 !!!

It would be cool if VS added a total miles / TPs tally to the web site account page.

If you download the TP column as well you could sort on that column which would give you miles etc from flown flights. Would still have to extract any from non VS flights but it's a start.

You could sort out credit card spend in a similar war - sort the activity column then remove the relevant rows.

Is it only miles/TP earned on VS or partners as well.

UA has had a similar set up for many tears where you get lifetime gold at 1m but has to be on UA planes.

CX never even sent a 'thanks a million' email when I hit that level which is one of the main reasons I moved to VS.

Hi All, fantastic forum, followed for years. Vast amount of knowledge. Now I will add a question to this topic!

I first become gold in Jan 2004. Hence then renewed in Feb 2005 as a result of the 13 month cycle. Rolling time on, this October I will receive my 10th new gold card through the post. But let's think about this, it will be my 10th gold card but I will only have been gold for 9 years and 9 months!

The announcement of gold for live says '10 consecutive years as gold member.....'. Does this mean 10 gold cards or 10 years? This will actually affect everyone as 10 years could mean renewing 11 times; hope I have explained myself clearly!

So in summary I think VS need to clarify:

What are 'base miles'?
Ae we talking only flights on VS metal?
Definition of 10 consecutive years.

To qualify for Gold you need 30 or more recently 40 TP per year.
Therefore if you have been Gold for 10 years you must have at least 300 TP so why add that as a condition of lifetime ?

So those people who've attained Au from other sources ( eg Centurion card holders) don't qualify.

I think in this case it means Flying Club membership years, so you should qualify, so long as you've not been Gold by virtue of say an Amex Card.

However, you're right, I've scanned the T&Cs and there's no detail - while the VS announcement is great, it raises questions that are unanswered.

I'll use a source to post these and other questions directly to VS and let everyone know the reply.

so if you have had Gold for 10 years but through a credit card will you still get the lifetime AU but not the extra bonus for the 300+ TP
#850465 by PaulW

Thanks Slinky, gold earned exclusively by flying not Amex etc. Yes, my calculations show I have earned over 400 tiers points on VS metal alone (ignoring partner tier points just in case they don’t count) since turning Gold for the first time.

But been thinking about this overnight. For those members very close to the 300TP criteria, VS need to clarify the date at which you start counting your valid TPs. For instance do you start counting the day you first turn gold. In some ways this makes sense but you then loose the 40 tier points that were used to qualify for that status in the first place (and it was 40 then in the first year, then 30 to renew).
