Hi,

Hoping you guys might be able to clarify some confusing information I am getting from the flying club about upgrading a flight with miles.

Trying to book a trip to LAX in November by purchasing an upgradeable economy ticket and then using our miles to upgrade to PE and/ or UC - so far so good! However, whilst the virgin website is showing availability for reward flights for 1 x adult and 1 x infant (under 2) 1st Nov, flying from LON to LAX in both PE and UC , when we tried to book by calling the cstomer services line, we were told it isn't possible as the infant tickets aren't available! Even though the baby will not require a seat - which seems beyond crazy. I had a look online at the virgin miles upgrade policy and there is no mention of what the infant (under 2 policy is).

Also, when I spoke to another flyer club agent last week, they advised the infant would just pay about £200 (no miles) however the agent I spoke to yesterday said it's 10% of the adult miles. All very confusing!

To recap our trip details are:

LON to LAX 1st Nov. 1 x adult upgradeable into PE from economy. 1 x adult upgradeable into UC from economy. Infant can be assigned to either passenger.

LAX to LON 17th 2 x adults and 1 x infant upgradeable into PE.

Has anyone got any experience of these upgrades and know what the correct info is?

Thanks,

Becks

Hi Becks,

As the infant does not occupy a seat reward availability doesn't apply. The infant will pay approx 10% of the adult fare and 10% of the adult miles.

The second agent seems a bit more in the know.

Hope this clears that up. :-)
