Granted, it has been a whole month and a bit since I last darkened the doors of the JFK CH, but they have gone and changed the menu on me :0

Tapas are now appearing rather prominently in the food choices and are different to the LHR selection - Currently available:

Red pepper bisque (V)
Basil oil

Corn, cheese and coriander quesadilla
Tabasco

Shrimp ceviche

Lamb kofta
Red cabbage slaw

Meatballs and stone fruit panzanella

Melon and ricotta salad (V)
watercress and toasted pine nuts

Devils on horseback
Grilled prunes wrapped in streaky bacon

Marinated olives (V)

Red lacquered chicken wings

Dirty water dog
Fired onions and house ketchup

Smoked salmon everything bagel
Dill and capers

Chunky fries (V)

Selection of ice creams (V)

Fresh fruit salad (V)

Champers and Mojitos have thus far been enjoyed... doubt I will make it through the entire selection like I have at LHR, but shall try :P

Aside from being felt up by a TSA agent who thought I was hiding something in my armpit and then near on rugby tackled by an actually quite charming Ozzy lass that thought me moving her bag along the conveyer to get to mine was a prelude to theft, it has been a good trip thusfar... watch this space :P

Hope all have had a good weekend and have an awesome week ahead 8D

buns

Don't fear buns the clubhouse burger is still on the menu. It is just that the first thing introduced at the moment is the tapas menu... I think it is a good addition, especially given the height and position of most of the tables. The main dinner menu is nearly the same as before, salmon rillette has unfortunately gone n( perhaps it will be back next time I come though - hint hint.

Yeashhh. I was there on Thursday, and a teeny bit frustrated by how unhealthy the tapas choices are. Had the melon and ricotta salad - v nice, but that was about all I could/would eat. (well, the fruit I guess, but to me that's a desert, not a tapas).

I know, I know, am in the minority, but still, we got to look after ourselves.

Nice idea though - the tapas. Personally I miss the dressed crab from the salad bar at LHR, those were *awesome with a salad and good bread and glass of white nectar. Hope it comes back someday.

Well Rachel, gfonk the dirty water dog is NYC CH speak for a hot dog. It was only OK - granted I have had worse from a street vendor from the city in question, but it did live up to its name in taste - dirty water dog.. boiled in water straight from the Hudson :P

Landed this morning off yet another fine flight, despite a wee delay the crew were fab.. I know I owe you guys a few TRs/summer reading novels :P , shall post when they have all been written up. Never seems enough time though.. I may need to borrow David's time machine ii)

Hope all are enjoying the sunshine 8D
