Eat
Drink
Repeat until your flight is called!

(Oh and try and find time for a haircut or spa treatment. Book it as soon as you arrive)

Thanks for resurrecting that thread.
Last time at LHR I didn't hear any flight announcements. Do they call the flight in the lounge? And do you leave at first call?

Yes they normally call all flights in the Clubhouse.

Up to you whether you go at first or second call - personally I like to go at the first to give plenty of time to settle in but others will differ: there's no right or wrong answer!

Thanks Blacky
My usual is NRT which seems to go from a gate in the early to mid 20s. Is that quite close by?

The perceived wisdom of V-Flyer in the past has been that at the first call, you order another drink and then leave at the second call, which gives you enough time to quaff the said drink.

Leave at the first call, which I have done on occasion for various reasons - one of them being that there really is a limit as to how long you can spend in the Clubhouse (and for those who disagree, try coming in at 9am on a flight to connect with one that leaves at 4pm) - and you may well find that boarding has not commenced. Moreover you may find that there are no signs for priority boarding outside the gate area and there is an airport guy patrolling the lines who refuses to let you through even though you have been told in the CH to go to the head of the queue. It is not a pleasant experience and on the last occasion the guy refused to let anyone through until I went to the back of the queue. The other scenario is that you are in a queue without priority boarding marked outside the gate area. You are happy to queue with everyone else but when in line, you hear the call for UC and Au passengers to board and when you get to the gate area you are asked to wait because there is a queue in the jet bridge

Leave at the second call and at worst boarding has not yet begun but you will get called to board first but generally speaking, boarding will have commenced and you will walk straight on to the aircraft and still have time for your glass of champagne and possibly a refill :)

Thanks. You've sold me on the 2nd call. Reckon I will go for it.
Our flight is at 12pm so we were thinking about attempting to get to T3 at about 8:30 ish should be enough time to enjoy breakfast maybe a facial and if possible a game of pool?

Having had to spend all day in the Clubhouse, like Honey lamb (tough I know), one small suggestion is to leave your baggage etc at the left luggage counter. This is amazingly liberating, free of dragging everything around you can go on occasional brisk walk around the terminal.
This is very good for your health and makes you appreciate all the facilities and offerings in the Clubhouse when you return up those polished stairs!
Yes HL I was on the Vancouver flight on a Wednesday and it was delayed! Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea were all enjoyed before a very pleasant trip! :$
