The jury is still out here until I see it in the flesh , though I don't think I like it much......looks like something out of an Austin Powers movie :w

Cheers slinky, mosltly looking good.. gents blazer is a bit prep schoolish but it may look better in the flesh.

Not out there yet, flight yesterday and flights last week were all same old, same old.

Which clubhouse is that in the waiter/waitress photos? Or is it a non existent stage one? :?

Completely agree. Why was this needed? How much did it cost? Is it really an area that needs expenditure?

I'm just getting a bit disillusioned with VS at the moment. I see very little to be excited about at the moment - quite the opposite.

Laudable, but I still wouldn't put it at the top of my priority list.

as employees have been involved throughout the design process, maybe a morale booster? the current designs have been around for more than 10 years.

That explains the velour look of the male uniform. Made out of the same material as the UC amenity kits.

Whilst I am a big fan of the weskit as an item of clothing, that colour match looks off to me.

Many items of the new uniform will be produced using recycled materials - in particular working with recycled polyester yarn made from used plastic bottles.

Isn't this also part of renewing and enforcing their branding? Bringing out a new uniform is more than just about staff morale but it also gets VS publicity and raises awareness of VS.

and has been mentioned, the current John Rocha uniform is 10 years old, not exactly the most flattering or stylish design.

The uniform needs to be replaced through natural wear & tear, new starters etc. anyway, so why not restyle it?

Didn't see any pics of staff in Economy in the link Slinky posted or were those the staff in the black tops?

Not sure about the white baggy thing in the first few pics - looks like they left a napkin there!

But I guess what the staff look like is a minor thing (other than the staff being comfy and the uniforms practical for washing etc)compared to many other aspects of VS service that could also do with a refresh.

Personally not a fan of the ladies jacket collar - on ground or otherwise. Will suit some though doesn't strike me as a universal design.

Rest of the uniforms look great from the pictures. Especially the men's. If VS aren't careful it will be the men outshining the women for a change ;)

Looking forward to seeing the new designs in person and ever hopeful the ladies jacket is not as 'Napolean' as they appear in the pictures...

Saw the new uniform coming in on the VS652, the shirt/blouse with the ruffles looked a bit odd without the jacket.

The CC wearing it didn't look uncomfortable and the collar wasn't so "napoleon".

My verdict - not bad fresh new look

I saw a couple of ground crew wearing the new uniform a LHR last night and they both said it was a "hit".....one crew member was also wearing it on the VS17 and they raved about it too....so far so good seems to be the opinion y)

We had some CC trialling the new uniform on VS095 and VS096 recently. Can't help thinking that money spent on design etc could have been invested in tidying up cabins if Molly and African Queen were anything to go by, the planes need a bit of TLC on their interiors - repairs etc. but the uniforms I saw were good although some CC had doubts about them.

Returning yesterday from Shanghai on the VS251 it was announced that the new uniform was being trialed by one male member of crew in PE.
Whilst sitting at the bar the crew member entered and myself and others had a very long conversation with him, persuaded him to retrieve his jacket and demonstrate/model the full attire --- we all thought it was superb, the whole assembly is very stylish and definitely a huge improvement on the old JR uniform --- a lot of design elements throughout [tie logo repeated on jacket lining etc] -- a very sharp and high end look.
We were told great feedback to date on both male and female uniform, I like it and think its a winner :D
Thanks to all staff on board --- a great FSM and crew, really enjoyable flight!

I know how you feel, ISTBC but I think the 2 girls sre retiring soon so no point in sprucing them up.

and maybe considering that the uniforms will be made out of recycled plastic bottles, there is a significant trade off cost wise
