I have Been watching the flight times statics on this board for a while now, in particular my flight VS 095 to Vancouver on Saturdays. Can anyone explain how this information comes accross to this board? For example yesterday on the official VA website I saw VS 095 leave two minutes early at 15.33 but on the flight stats it left before 3pm? So does that quote, gate closing, or push back time? Or does VA show runway take off time? The stats indicate VS 095 leaving early each week up to 40 mins early, is that true? I saw it arrived at Vancover 25 mins early. thank you, sorry for questions! Can't see this posted before. Am I missing something like stats on GMT? :)

Pete can confirm with more detail, but the stats come direct from VS. We are lucky to have a feed from their flight data. This is why sometimes you see an early landing due to a diversion. The actual times are from the wheel sensors.

Thank you, it does look interesting as said the VS095 flight yesterday which i am on soon, on VA website said a couple of mins early leaving, but here it looked a good 40 mins, now it arrived 25 mins early indicating either a very good flight or the data here is correct, and VA website flight status wasn't correct.

As said maybe here is 'push back' time and VA is take off time?

Its of interest as if i am there at Heathrow I want to be sure i am there for the flight and not shopping too long.

Thats awesome!
Yes I think any difference must be to do with pushback and actual take off.
In the case where VS shows a flight as departed at 15.33 but flightstats shows earlier then that is a little odd. :?
If anyone in the know could clarify that would be super cool.
I also watch the VS900/1 on a regular basis.

It did look odd, if its push back here for just before 3pm, and 3.33 on VA website as take off on runway it's logical. GMT isn't as why report it to this board a lot earlier ie if GMT then the time on this board was ten to for, late off, and arrived 25 mins early.

Sorry to 'bump' up but we do not seem to have had an answer on this now another example is today.

VS0095 to Vancouver.

VA Website, left 15.44 ie one minute early.

Here on flight stats-
Flight Route Date Dep Arr
VS095 LHR-YVR 2013-07-30 15:12 00:36

32 mins difference here,

Is flight leaving early? Or is it (1)Here is push back and (2)VA website is take off? But would it take 32 mins to take of at Heathrow??

Or is it VA website doesn't like to report early take offs? I haven't seen them report a really early take off on VA site but they do seem to all land early.

I know you want an answer but 'bumping' threads is not something we do / like here.

I'm sure Pete will respond when he gets time from doing his day job.

As for your earlier comment about not wanting to miss the flight as long as you are at the gate by the time indicated on your boarding pass you will be fine.

Well as I said before if you are at the gate by the time indicated on your boarding pass you will be OK - that is the only time that matters.
