If you do get there earlier, the clubhouse will be open (I believe Air India uses it) but the service is limited until the check-in desks open, when it becomes full service.

I'm assuming it will also open for the 07.15 flight or is that not the case?

I know, that caught me out once after a heavy night in the Soho in Manhattan, a tonic was very much desired!

Likewise...... I was most distressed to have my request for champagne at 6am turned down! Luckily this was provided immediately once onboard the AC!

Yes, JFK is the same. No alcohol before 08:00 Mon - Sat or from midday on a Sunday.

JFK is in NY State, EWR is in "Noo Joisey", so both of those states must have this licensing law.

champagne at 6am :-0 wowsers! lol
and there was me thinking that a G&T at 11s was tricky.
yes but think the state law must be the reason.

Technically state law does not allow the sale or serving of alcohol before 9am any day of the week, but in Newark the onus lies with the local municipality - blame them for the extra 'dry' hour :P

Similar applies to JFK although I have a feeling that the ones who actually set the rules on this are the NYC and NJ Port Authority :?

Regardless, gfonk... 11am?? - child's play. You should stop by the V-Flyer A A office located in the LHR CH library near right hand corner to the door :P

Tsk, gfonk! Do you wish to be banned from V-Flyer? You are certainly going the right way about it! :o)

Not that long ago there was a competition to see who could get the earliest drink in the CH ):

Airports are time free zones. Well, that's my theory anyway! Most of the time flying short haul for business doesn't allow for a drink Pre flight so it's nice to be able to have one when flying long haul or for hols
