Quick question re having a shower in the CH at LHR, as we have never had the need before but potentially could on our trip next month.

Are there plenty of showers, so is it pretty much a given that on a Sunday morning there won't be an issue getting one? Are all the necessary things like towels/body wash etc provided? Are they good, powerful showers?

Any other info/tips about them?

I can't remember exactly the number of showers but getting them doesn't seem to be a problem and yes, they are stocked with towels and toiletries. Aer John always made a point of using them even though it may well have been only a couple of hours since his last one. That boy certainly believed in using all the facilities. :P

There's at least 4 shower / changing rooms. I've never had any issues in getting one :)

It's not normally a problem to get one. They are powerful and everything is provided. The ones I've used have had plenty of space.

The showers are great and I agree I have never had to wait in line for one. The body wash and moisturiser are amazing (Cowshed I think? but not sure?) It is such a great way to start a flight. I always feel a bit weird though boarding with wet hair! Does anyone know if the Jacuzzi is fixed? I was in the clubhouse last week and it was out of order and am there again on Thursday and was just wondering if it was up and running again?

It's been broken for a while, it was out of action on the July 05th. The hairdresser told me that there had been problems in getting it to maintain temperature.

I think that there are 14; I've never had a problem booking one, ask at the Spa desk, and usually shower about 60 minutes before flight departure (the speakers in the shower room relay departures). Shower gel, conditioner and shampoo, body lotion, clean towels, toilet and wash basin, large mirror and hair dryer are provided.

Use the floor mat, and dispose of the towels in the laundry basket provided. I like to leave the shower room with minimal clean-up for the staff.

Request toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc. from the Spa staff, as required.

Use the steam option; it takes a few minutes to heat up but it's definitely worth it.

Don't panic if you're still in there at first call; you'll make the flight, easily, if you meander to the Gate at, or shortly after, the second Call.

Nothing beats a shower and scrub just before a flight.

Think about taking clean socks and underwear to change into, after showering. Refresh cologne in Duty Free.
