this might be useful for some of our very regular US bound travelers.

It's an error. April Fools day joke. Don't bother applying. Too much hassle. Much better to queue up.

Oh alright then, I have it, it's brilliant. Cannot imagine travelling without it now.

It's still asking for a promo code so doesn't look like the site has been updated yet.

For those that already have this, I presume the interview bit needs to be done in the US?

according to this on the Federal Register initially it will (still) be done via airlines identifying passengers who may be eligible but I assume they will be allocated a lot more of the promo codes than during the earlier trials.

Not sure if this is still the case but we had some time to kill in IAH in February and made some enquiries at the enrolment centre who were very helpful gave us a code once we had registered a GOES account so we could complete once we were back in the UK. The staff did mention the trial was a success and would be open to travellers without a promo code later on in the Summer of 2013. I went for my interview last month and got the card a few weeks later, note though you need to supply a US address as they don't ship international. And no sticker was given for my passport. You can collect the card if needed from an enrolment centre.

Thanks

I've done a bit of reading up on this, as this is something I'd be very interested in.

There's no enrolment centre in DUB (see here for locations). They are all at US airports along with one in downtown Washington in the Ronald Reagan Building and a few other downtown locations in the US.

You also only have 30 days from having your online application provisionally approved to scheduling an interview (although the interview itself can be upto 90 days after your application is first submitted). See here for more details. Actually receiving the card itself could be an issue though unless you know someone living in the US or are going to be in the US long enough to pick it up from an enrolment centre.

You don't need the card. Mine never turned up, went to the enrolment centre in SFO, CBP said don't worry about it, as long as you are in the system it is fine. He also said they don't bother putting the CBP sticker on the passport any longer.

VS gave me a promo code and all was going well until I needed to provide a Police Certificate number.
Called my local Police who did not seem to have no idea what I am talking about.
Anyone help me how to go about getting this ?

See the ACPO website

You apply via them and not your local police station / constabulary

Bit miffed after all these years traveling to and from the US when this wasn't available and less than a year after getting my green card it is opened up!

True but given that I can just use the US citizen line it's probably not worth it.

Just all those years lined up in the Alien line add up to lots of drinking time!

as per http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/newsroom/news_releases/national/08092013_3.xml

Rather than re-open the previous thread, http://v-flyer.com/forum/index.php?f=4&t=277263&rb_v=viewtopic&start=20, as it was stale.

This does ask for a promotion code again, and won't go any further until you have one.
