Hi, I have a same day return flight tomorrow to Edinburgh. I checked in for my outbound flight on my mobile earlier and issued the BP to passbook. Now it is T-24 to the return, I have tried to check-in for the return but it doesn't give me the option. Is this right?

Not a huge deal on such a short flight but would be nice to know I am sitting near the front of the aircraft for a quick exit. Anyone had recent experience of this situation?

This is a glitch (one of many) in the vs it system. It will not let you check in for a 2nd flight within 24 hours of the first. You will have been assigned the seat you had previously selected in your booking (if applicable) and will automatically be checked in for your 2nd flight. You just need to try OLCI again after your 1st flight or print your boarding pass at a self check terminal or desk to get both boarding passes at the same time.

As CHill710 mentions, there are many glitches in the VLR check-in system, though apparently most, if not all of them are due to be fixed sometime in August, though I don't know when exactly.

Many thanks for your replies. Good to know my previous seat request will likely remain - though I'm aware these can change. Glad to hear they are looking at it. Not often I can say that Flymaybe does something better than VS... ;)

I went to the check-in desk this morning as it wasn't busy. The agent was very helpful and confirmed my check-in for the return flight. The seat wasn't the one I requested and he was unable to change it as the system threw up a message "not in control of flight". Changes to seat etc could only be made once the system had dropped my outbound leg (i.e. it had been flown and dropped from system).

Just thought I'd provide an update for anyone in the same situation. :)
