When I booked a couple of months ago, VS044 LAS - LGW was down to be a B747 but I see it is now showing as an A340-300

Anyone have any idea why the change?

What are their 343's like? I have this idea in the back of my mind that they are tatty, run down and in urgent need of refurbishment.

Any suggestions as to the best UC seats to go for (2 pax)?

Cheers

It must be a glitch in the system. The VS 43/44 has always been on a 744. What dates are you travelling? (As stranger things have happened)

Well it could make it. Must admit I have flying there for a good number of years once or twice a year and it has always been the good ole 747.
I personally would want the old IFE on a flight that long!!

I'm flying on the 20 November.

I wondered if they had plans to start scrapping some of the 74's in readiness for the Nightmareliner next year. :D

It's a glitch in the system definitely on a lgw 744. And they have only just been refitted with new seats and touch screen ife so they'll be here for a few years yet.

I'm traveling LAS in December and am hoping it's a 744 I notice that some of last winter the a333's were doing some of the routes to LAS but I believe once these a333's have been refitted, G-VKSS & G-VSXY, to 3 class they will be rotating the BGI / CUN routes etc and potential to move to LHR for operational requirements. Sorry I digress but I believe the "Nightmareliner" is being delivered to the LHR fleet initially to assist in the further replacement of the a343's before virgin look at the rest of the ageing fleet, albeit still a very young fleet compared to other airlines.

I also believe that it was just a glitch.

A couple of days later, it wasn't showing anything but our outbound flight (VS15) was listed as an A346!!!!

I know this was wrong as this morning when the seats became available - at 90 days 6 hours & a few minutes, it was still a trusty old744.

All sorted - grabbed 6A and K when the seats became available this morning. Definitely a 744.
