A completely uneventful trip with a fabulous crew. I don't know why being on a plane makes my ineptitude increase (I left a computer mouse on the flight out the previous Saturday) but after changing into the obligatory black pyjamas, I had to be helped to fold my trousers over a hanger (this was a business trip, of two days duration). Had already eaten, courtesy of my hosts (try Cafe Del Ray next time you're in LA - wonderful) I skipped dinner (VFLYER - why are you makimg me rate the food? OK, I'll score breakfast), settled down with the laptop for a few hours (having bought a new mouse in LA!), and then slept almost all the way, waking to a highly decadent full English. On time departure, early arrival. The crew were terrific, and the flight was effortless.

Last time I flew back I had a terrific sight of the aurora. Not to be, this time! You'd think, being in UC and all, that VA could arrange a decent light show (irony!).

Now, the niggles:
LAX: No room in ANZ lounge, so please go to Air France or Air Canada lounge (so the paper said). It seems as most people interpreted that as the Af lounge, but Mr Ineptitude (me) managed to go to the Air Canada lounge by mistake Still, they let me in. Offerings were pretty poor, but I was still full from dinner, and didn't really care. Not a great lounge, but I blame LAX, not Virgin. It is such a shame that we're denied the ANZ lounge -I really liked that one. So, minus one to LAX!

LHR: Back early, and I'm aiming on an earlier train from London home. Cabin baggage only, so heading for the exit really quickly. But, not to be. This plan was scuppered, comprehensively, by one of the longest queues I have ever seen at Immigration. I don't have a biometric passport so had to join the line. Minus one to LHR!

VA: Guys, some of the A346's are getting a little old. The seat power wasn't working, it was pretty grubby, and the duvet was covered in what I *hope* were rust spots. I can't get away from a feeling of general penny pinching at the moment. Minus one to VA beancounters.

Does this mean on all lax departures that the ANZ lounge is off limits due to their relocation shortly. We are off to Lax in a few weeks. Has anyone else had this problem. WE are also on the 24 as well.

Long time lurker, first post.

There's at least one other trip report for VS24 recently where the ANZ lounge was unavailable.
http://v-flyer.com/forum/index.php?f=6& ... =viewtopic

The "shared lounges" page on Virgin website did say that the ANZ lounge was unavailable when busy and the Air Canada lounge would be used until recently when the reference to it was removed.

I'm also on the 24 in a few weeks so interested in what chances of ANZ lounge are. :)

Rust spots??? Dear lord. Guessing there was not a spare for the crew to give you. Aside from that, it sounds like a solid flight.

Cheers for posting 8D
