For once a VS agent 's mistake has been of benefit.
Last week i asked to put on hold 2 PE reward seats for next may to MCO, there being only 2 available for the exact dates we wanted. The agent in the premier team did so and said the hold would expire at 1900hrs on the 16th August. In the mean time Mrs Chumba was trying to sort her leave out with work.
Unfortunanlty the leave took longet to sort out than expected and the date passed so we'd lost the flights we thought.
Rang VS yesterday to discuss other options out to MCO back via BOS or JFK etc, as the return flights had gone. At which point the agent said our original flights were still showing as held a week after they should have automatically cancelled. y)
Apparently the original agent when she reserved them made a mistake and selected the wrong option in some drop down menu which indicated the flights were e-ticketed and awaiting payment instead of just being held.
The upshot being i paid the taxes/fees quickly and the flights are now confirmed and ticketed.
So for once thanks VS for mucking up the booking
