First time flying from Manchester as we usually use Gatwick.
Stayed overnight in Bewleys hotel as only £80 for room and 15 days parking
Arrived at checkin 7.00 am just as it opened, first in queue so only took 5 minutes.
security was empty so through in 5 minutes again.
Plane was mademoiselle rouge very clean before take off - was like a bomb site on arrival. Why can't people pick up their mess before leaving the plane ? PE flyers are as bad as economy.
Seat width and pitch seems better on the A330 to the 747 we usually fly on.
Food was OK better than last flight though, we stole the little plastic salt and pepper pots to sit alongside the "dicky ducks" at home.
Before plane doors closed pilot announced a small delay for security check, but only left 5 minutes or so late.
Reasonably turbulence free flight, watched a couple of good films from the large choice on the Vera system, nice big seat back screens in PE with USB charging ports.
Landed about 25 minutes early - pilot advised us to get to immigration quickly as we had arrived before the Gatwick, Glasgow and BA planes.
PE were allowed off first -we raced to immigration hall and it was totally deserted, pleasant security guy for a change and we were processed in less than 10 minute the off to baggage claim.
PE bags were off first and ours were in first batch so quickly off to Customs.
Only 4 couples in front of us so through this check in 5 minutes.
Onto monorail and down to Dollar car rental.
I had linked my rental booking to my Dollar Express account so went straight to rental garage and was first at kiosk so was processed straight away. No pressure to buy unneeded extras, given paperwork and told to choose the car from any in the mid size range.
Loaded luggage up, gave paperwork to lady at kiosk on way out of garage.
I know this sounds like a race but I hate being stuck in all of the queues.
We landed at about 14.52 and were out of the airport at 15.43pm that's a record I am sure I will never beat.
Am now enjoying a relaxing 14 days in the Orlando area

Thank you for your TR . It was nice to read so many positive points. Quite agree about the way people leave a mess on the plane . I had to read it twice to make sure I really had read that you had a pleasant security guy ! What a fantastic time from de planing and getting your car.
Enjoy Orlando. Very envious .

Sounds like a good flight on the A330. With the many many flights we have had into MCO, there never seems to be a happy medium when arriving.

It's either really, really good and very quick or you turn the corner into the immigration hall and your mouth drops at the prospect of shuffling along for the next hour.

I too am a great fan of Dollar Express - always very quick and usually always nice, clean cars.

Enjoy the hols y)

Great TR of what seemed to be an above average flight y) The last time we flew to MCO from LGW earlier this year our pilot made reference to the race to beat the MAN & BA flights in..........must be a wager for the pilots :D

Enjoy Orlando......thanks for posting y) y)
