Evening All,

I had a trip in Feb. When I checked the booking in the weeks preceding the departure I was offered cash upgrades from EC-PE at various prices. Eventually one day it popped up at a prices I was happy with and upgraded to PE. This was about 6 weeks before the flight.

I now have a booking for Nov, going out PE and back UC. I have been waiting to see a cash fare to go out UC, but nothing has popped up on the manage my booking page.

Anyone know if there is any logic around how these pop up? I sort of assumed that it would show me an upgrade price anyway, even if it was at full fare price just to try and tempt me. There is availability in UC.

have just checked http://www.flightstas.com and there are only 4 seats in UC on sale for the VS33 (and 0 in PE and 7 in Y) so looks to be a busy flight. So if they think they can sell a seat UC for the full fare they won't offer any upgrades (paid or miles)

That's not to say that won't change so keep checking.

Well - I now have a chance to bid on the upgrade from PE-UC. The minimum bid is £945 per person, which seems a bit optimistic (from Virgin's point of view) as you can buy UC on this flight for £990 with the current sale on.

Given that I have paid about £500 for the PE seat I think I will leave it for now.
