Lets hope so but it will be same old issue :(

VS have got some good flight prices at present but these offers end 13th December and for 2014 they end on 30th March - so the offers end just as the christmas or easter school holiday 'peak' time starts :w

This time last year, there were some great Caribbean sale prices loaded covering the Easter holidays for this year, so don't give up hope...

Ok, I'm going to backtrack a bit on my earlier optimism. I did finally bite the bullet and book Dubai for next May, although I just missed out on the last of the K's on the return flight, so am going to have to keep an eye out in case more appear - suspect unlikely and rather annoying given that the econonomy price was almost identical to PE. Oh well, first world problems etc, and it was a good package price overall, mostly due to some huge discounts from the hotel (Atlantis).

Where my optimism really does fall flat though is the Easter hols. I was having a chat with the travel agent, specifically bemoaning the lack of good PE deals (nowt much below £1500 to anywhere in the caribbean). She made a very interesting point that because Easter is very late next year, people that might normally go for a late season ski trip then don't really have that option in 2014. So there is a lot more traffic to other locations, especially the caribbean and Florida, and flights are booking fast. Could be anecdotal of course, but it certainly makes sense, and also helps explain why my new year ski booking was a bit more expensive than usual - supply/demand 101...

So, looks like next Easter could be an expensive business, think I'll sit tight for now. Maybe try Cornwall instead :-)

e.g. 19th July > 3 August (Outbound)
Econ 667
PE 1,020
UC 927

Yes that can happen if the low price PR fare buckets have sold out leaving only the higher ones then a Z fare in UC can be cheaper than a PE fare.

And checking the fare the PE is in the S buket on the outbound (K back) but the UC is a Z (both ways)

Can also happen at the Y/PE interface too.

Yes, that's happened on the GLA-MCO flights I've been looking at where it's cheaper to fly PE than EC. Mind boggles.

I can't justify these costs, now looking at going via Gatwick with BA. Bit of a shame but due to the variance between Scottish and English school holidays I'm being quoted £2900 by BA via LGW with connecting flight included and £4800 direct from GLA with VS. :0

This is a good example of why VS need a domestic feeder service or code-share from Glasgow, flying VS from MAN or LGW is pointless for me.
