Frightening, isn't it? And what's even scarier is that she's only 5 years from being charged full adult fare!!! Think she may well discover what it's like to travel 'at the back of the bus' by that point...

Three words: O M G !

OMD would be better, but a CD is cheaper than an adult fare. Quick, put her backwards before she gets to accustomed ...

I know. I'm starting to have sleepless nights already. Mrs V has suggested that once she turns 12 we book her a seat in Y as an unaccompanied minor. My worry is, she'd hunt us down and find us at the UC bar...

Yeah, but remember that she will also be able to earn miles so all is not lost

Brilliant, you had me on the edge of my seat wondering what bad news you could get from the check in guy.

I couldn't read fast enough to find out. I had a picture in my mind of Maureen being like that under manager Julie played by Jane Horrocks in the TV show 'Trollied' :P

Most entertaining. Looking forward to the return TR y)

Somehow I think it will be your good self that will be in Y (at the back, middle seats, next to the toilets, surrounded by a an overactive stag or hen party, with no IFE and only the vegetarian pasta and a dried up lettuce leaf aka 'salad' and a single glass of wine as sustinence).

Meanwhile the lady Viponds will be up t'front nary giving you a thought.

After all my devoted years as a contributor to these esteemed fora, you'd wish such a thing upon me? Shame on you tonty; and you too, honey lamb. I've a good mind to leave you a tirade of Neilies (not that I do that sort of thing :P )

Shame on me? I am simply pointing out the realities of married life and your (future) place in the pecking order chez Vipond

Oh and as for denials of writing a faux TR I have found the evidence and j'accuse ! |:) |:)

I know! I just saw your other post with the link. I really couldn't remember writing it, so much so that I actually had a little titter or two when I read it. I know, one probably shouldn't laugh at one's own work, but if I've got early-onset dementia I might as well have some fun with it...

I am gobsmacked about the 6A table problem on Hot Lips!!!
I was in 6A on Hot Lips inbound flight from Vegas on Sunday 21st and it was, already, broken and taped, I understood they could not fix it in Vegas, but expected it to be fixed in Manchester on the 22nd, so 2 flights later it was still not fixed!!!
Mind you I got no vouchers, in fact did not know about until we boarded, a crew member insisted we should have been informed at check in.
Maybe we had a U.S. tape becuse mine said"I am broken do not touch me".
Still enjoyed the flight, never knew repairing a table would be a major engineering job.

I'd happily share our vouchers with you, old boy, but I'm afraid Mrs. V spent them all... ;) Pretty poor show that the table had been defunct two days prior to our flight, especially so soon after the 'refresh'.

Clearly US tape warning tape is much more polite than than its UK counterpart. Since we were flying out of of Manchester, I'm rather surprised our tape didn't say "Mind yer sen! Table's knackered!".

As they had to change the tape, I am guessing that a whole bunch of engineering staff tried, bravely, to repair this high tech table, but failed and had to tape it up again.
I presumed the suspension wire and all the other table bits were checked, and replaced when needed, when the aircraft was in the Far Eat being updated??
Anyway for the first time in all the flights we have taken we dined together face to face, and it worked quite well.

It's from either JFK or Washington (I think the latter) but I have been nagging him for the past ten months for it. ):
